      "text": "Go is what brought me to Asia in the first place! I used to go-to the highland Park go club and play very bad games with the people there. But they were reasonably nice... Although I didn\u0027t make any friends. It was actually the first time I had participated in anything like that. A social gathering among like-minded people, creating happiness and fun out of nothing. I played a Korean fast player without much English... Beat him taking two stones. Then a pro gave me nine stones and I was amazed that go had so much depth to it.  For lunch we went out and they offered sushi and on a whim I accepted - having no idea what it was. I hadn\u0027t ever even though that I could eat it one day. But it was okay.",

      "text": "SF has a whole bunch of rideshare services. I tried out scoot, which gives you an electric scooter similar to what I rode in China. It\u0027s pretty great! But unlike China, here you\u0027re considered a car not a bike, so have to ride in traffic. And you have to wear a helmet, which they provide.",

      "text": "Last night I met a few people - a guy from redwood City, ecology major, who was very concerned with development and its damage to the world  - almost religious in intensity.  I realized I\u0027m concerned with that too, but think the only way out is to raise a generation of Feynmans.  Also met a chill Canadian. They\u0027ve got an admirably good outlook on life up there.  Re: the environment, just when is enough enough? What percent of the peninsula is protected? The answer has always been \"more\" when I\u0027ve asked. Hard to negotiate with someone like that! Human innovation also takes resources and it\u0027s the best hope to get out of current traps.  So that was fun, arguing in an Icelandic bar for a few hours. ",
